In molte applicazioni la compressione di immagini è ormai diventata una necessità per contenerne le dimensioni e rendere più facile il loro trattamento, qualsiasi sia l'origine delle immagini stesse.
In particolare la compressione permette notevoli risparmi - sia in termini di tempo che di costi - per la trasmissione a distanza e l'archiviazione delle immagini.
SOFTEC dispone di un
avanzato sistema per la compressione lossless di immagini.
Nella sua versione originale ColorJBIG nasce come un efficiente sistema basato su una scheda di espansione hardware, che realizza tutte le operazioni principali necessarie per comprimere un'immagine, e su un efficace software di gestione ed interfaccia utente. In questo modo i tempi necessari per comprimere un'immagine, anche di dimensioni notevoli, vengono drasticamente ridotti; e la CPU rimane libera di svolgere altre funzioni.
L'hardware della scheda applica l'algoritmo JBIG, un potente standard emanato dalla International Telecommunication Union che consente di ottenere ottime prestazioni con ogni tipo di immagine e di salvaguardare ogni più piccolo dettaglio dell'immagine.
Per chi fosse interessato abbiamo recentemente sviluppato anche una
versione solo software dell'applicativo.

Il pacchetto offre la massima flessibilità poiché può comprimere anche immagini in formati non convenzionali con numero di bande e di livelli definiti dall’utente e senza ricorrere alla generazione di dati fittizi.

Personal computers have become a potent vehicle for the diffusion and analysis of images. If you're happy just to look at them and you're not in a hurry, then perhaps you don't need our JBIG suite.
Instead, if you use images for work - maybe at a research facility, in some industry, a medical center, a service supplier or anywhere else that digital images are used professionally - you know that the better the images are, the more space they need, and that means higher costs for storage and transmission.
If you directly acquire the images yourself, you’ll also know that the time needed for acquisition is almost always the biggest single factor that limits the performance of your system.
The only solution to this problem is COMPRESSION.
You'll certainly have heard about this, but it's likely that till now compression has only taken up even more of your time and has often devasted the quality of your images - and we are fully aware that for all professional applications the most detailed close-up of the image is generally the most important, and is the one that costs the most.
With our JBIG suite all these problems are now past.
SOFTEC produces an advanced tool for image compression.
In its original version, this is not simply a piece of software - like all competitors. It is a complete system based on a plug-in PCI card that performs all the needed computing tasks for image compression and an effective software for image management and graphic user interface.
The compression time is greatly reduced while CPU is kept free to perform other duties.
The suite implements the JBIG algorithm, a powerful lossless standard issued by the International Telecommunication Union that achieves good performances, with the added advantage that quality is totally unimpaired because this standard guarantees you total protection of all your data.
Images can be handled, downloaded and transmitted far more rapidly - and your hard disk remains free much longer.
